“Rudhrama Devi” is the latest Telugu 3D movie, which hit the theaters on 9th October 2015, along with its Hindi and Malayalam versions. Its Tamil version is all set to be released on 16th October 2015. It is a historical film scripted and directed by Gunasekhar and produced by Gunaa Team Works and the music of the film has been given by ace music director, Illayaraja. The film has got the credit of being the fifth highest open grossing film in the country for the year 2015.

”Rudhrama Devi” has Anushka Shetty starring in the titular role while Chiranjeevi has narrated it in his impressive voice. The movie has an ensemble star cast comprising of Allu Arjun, Prakash Raj, Rana Daggubati, Vikramjeet Virk, Nithya Menon, Krishnam Raju, Catherine Tresa and Baba Sehgal.

The film is a historical themed with, which narrates the life story of Rudhrama Devi, a renowned female ruler of the Kakatiya dynasty, who ruled the Deccan Plateau in the period of 1259-60. She was designated as a son and was crowned the ruler under the name of Rudradeva. After considering Anushka Shetty, Priyanka Chopra and Nayanthara for the title role, Anushka was finalized to play it, while Allu Arjun was chosen over actors like Jr NTR and Mahesh Babu to play the male lead. The budget of the movie was a lavish Rs 80 crore. Its shooting was flagged off in February 2013 at Warangal, while the first trailer was launched in March 2015. After its Telugu release, the movie has already received positive reviews for the narration, performances, music and direction and has become one of the highest opening grosser of the year, making a collection of Rs 32 crore across the first weekend. The Tamil version is also expected to set the screens on fire.
