The agitation has affected over 550 trains services, according to the Railways. Passenger trains going from Delhi to Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab and Jammu have been affected.

A protester was shot dead in retaliatory fire by Haryana police on Friday after a mob, agitating for reservation for Jats, vandalised the state DIG office and set fire to few police vehicles. DGP Y Singhal told reporters that one of the protesters shot at a BSF jawan forcing police to retaliate as the mob was not allowing them to take the injured jawan to hospital. He appealed to the protesters to stop the agitation as it is causing inconvenience to locals on the account of railway tracks and roads being blocked.
